Highly respected former pro and tennis coach José Higueras will headline the 2017 Tennis Professionals Association (TPA) National Coaching Conference on March 2, to be held at Aviva Centre in Toronto.

A former tennis player, José reached a career-high ranking of world No. 6 in 1983, and has represented his home country of Spain in Davis Cup. After retiring as a player, José became a world-renowned tennis coach. José has worked with tennis greats including Michael Chang, Jim Courier, Carlos Moya, Pete Sampras, Jennifer Capriati and Roger Federer. In 2008, he was hired by the United States Tennis Association (USTA) to run their elite player development program.

Dedicated to growing the profession of tennis coaching in Canada, the TPA was introduced by Tennis Canada in 2004 to assist the nation’s certified instructors, coaches, and club professionals, and its membership has grown each year to over 3,300 people. Past guest speakers at the TPA Conference have included Paul Annacone, Judy Murray, and Nathalie Tauziat.
