OFFICIALLY LAUNCHED! - IT’S TIME TO START CELEBRATING TENNIS DAY IN CANADA!

Tennis Canada officially launched the first-ever Tennis Day in Canada by welcoming over 100 kids from neighbouring schools to the Aviva Centre today.  In a high-energy festival of tennis, the kids were given the opportunity to try team tennis, hone their skills in a variety of drills and tour the World Class Facilities where the best players in the world compete for the Rogers Cup.

Special thanks to our TPA certified coaches, Alan Ma, Rachel Gould and Albert Fong who coordinated the day’s activities.

NOW IT’S YOUR TURN, CANADA!

With the launch complete, it’s time to get the celebration started across the country.  We can’t wait to see Canadians from coast-to-coast pick up a racquet tomorrow at over 170 clubs hosting Tennis Day in Canada activities. The entire country will see just how easy and fun it is to get involved in tennis!

WIN BIG ON TENNIS DAY IN CANADA #tennisday

Remember, posting pictures or videos from your Tennis Day in Canada events to Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #tennisday will qualify you or your club for amazing prizes!

Beginning on Saturday, May 13 at 6:00 a.m. ET, players, coaches and clubs can be eligible to win prizes by uploading photos or videos to their Twitter and Instagram accounts.  Each post with the hashtag #tennisday is equal to one entry.  The more you post, the more entries you have and the greater your chance of winning!

Clubs may win one of eight gift certificates to the TPA e-store courtesy of HEAD and Wilson (to be redeemed by a TPA certified professional).  Four of those prizes will be awarded through a random draw from all Club’s with eligible posts to Twitter and Instagram using the hashtag #tennisday.  The remaining four prizes will be awarded to Clubs with the largest number of participants that post to social media with the hashtag #tennisday through their Club’s Twitter or Instagram account.  Please indicate the number of participants in your post.

One individual participant will win the grand prize of Four Tickets to Opening night of the Rogers Cup in Toronto or Montreal (flights and one-night accommodation included).

The contest will end on Sunday, May 14 at 11:59 p.m. ET.  No entries will be accepted beyond that time.  A random draw will take place on Monday, May 15 to determine the winners.  Recipients will be contacted through the social platform in which they shared their photos and/or videos with further information on their prize.

Thank you for joining this national campaign to celebrate, showcase and promote tennis to all Canadians.  We will be in touch after the event to hear more about your Tennis Day in Canada experience.  Until then, we can’t wait to see all of the photos and videos from your events! #tennisday
