Recognition of Coaching Competence

Tennis Canada, in partnership with the Coaching Association of Canada, has a Competency Based Education Coaching Certification System. As such, it respects and recognizes your current teaching and coaching competence which includes foreign coaches with ITF approved certification and Canadian coaches with significant coaching experience. Tennis Canada also recognizes coaching competence with respect to the playing background of former professional players.

 

Equivalency:

Equivalency allows experienced Pros and Coaches to earn the equivalent of Tennis Canada’s entry level Instructor Course if they have at least four years of full time teaching experience. Once approved by Tennis Canada and in order to attain the Instructor certification, they will be required to fulfilled some pre-requisites that will be explained in the confirmation letter they will receive.

 

Acceleration:

Acceleration allows pros, coaches and former high level players to bypass certain level of certification and be able to register directly to a higher level based on coaching, professional experience and/or playing experience. Upon successful completion of the Course that the person has been accelerated to, the individual will then receive the certification. Once approved by Tennis Canada and prior to attending the course to which they are accelerated, all candidates are required to fulfilled some pre-requisites that will be explained in the confirmation letter they will receive.
